Not true. "Peerless Martial God" is what this anime is based off. I can proudly state I made it through 60% of the novel before I quit in absolute disgust.

Peerless Martial God is completely different. this is based off of the name Peerless Martial Spirit. better fact check yourself before you wreck yourself.

There's no peerless martial spirit in English translations or mtl. Eh, I assumed they were the same because of the same tropes about girls ill with special body, taken away by long lost family. Though that's common in the genre. Also, they both have the same devouring hydra spirit.

I'm reading now about one of the smartest MCs I've ever seen in the genre. I thought the novel was a joke like cheesy anime stuff, but it is suprisingly good. Based off Chinese myth and gods. "My Senior Brother is Too Steady"

I didn't like Reverend Insanity either. I don't like dark novels or evil MCs. Light hearted stuff like A Will Eternal, Child of Light, Upgrade Specialist in Another World are good. Also stuff like The Legendary Mechanic, Reincarnation of the Strongest Sword God and its clones, ect.

Martial Universe, Martial World, Desolate Era, ISSTH, King of Gods were the first ones of the type I ever read. Everything has to be measured on that scale.

One thing about adaptations of novels into donghua, they almost always follow the source, even if they change things, they will not change the characters' names, or certain events, there are exceptions one of which is because the entire series belongs to a single company and they just make spinoff out of the main story. So whenever the characters' name is different, the setting is different, then you know for sure it isnt from the same novel, why pay the author licencing and right fees if you going to make something totally different?

If you can read Chinese and dont have access to Qidian, a Chinese webnovel site then googling the words 绝世武魂 洛城东 will come up with the right novel on some free Chinese webnovel sites

their is a manga with the name Peerless Martial Spirit. not sure about a light novel. either way not really worth the read as the only reason I still watch this is cuz I have been watching it for so long. it doesn't seem to go anywhere it is like the mc goes in circles. he gets into it with people or sometimes gets attacked just for being the mc. pretty much the plot so far is the mc powers up to beat someone then someone new comes along and beats the mc. rinse and repeat. there was a good story till like episode 71 but now the story is pretty much non existent. yeah I think I'm just gonna drop it now. me actually typing it out made me fully realize that this isn't worth watching anymore.

There are a few Peerless Martial novels, and Peerless Martial God, 绝世武神, is not the same as Peerless Martial Spirit 绝世武魂, see the last character? One is god the other is spirit. They have different main characters, the other one is Lin Feng and this one is Chen Feng. The story is not really the same, different world, the female lead is a Celestial Fox and not really a human at all

I enjoyed Peerless Martial God more than Peerless Martial Spirit, I managed to finish the former, the latter, I gave up, I can only stand so much main character being bullied, villains escaping, friends of his dying, disappearing or committing suicide out of the blue, I still wonder how the hell is the author managing to still keep writing it lol

But with Peerless Martial God, yes I got annoyed with the main character either draws attention to himself or gets into fight cause he felt like it, at least he manages to kill people and not let them run away lol
And yes, walking around with the most beautiful girl and he wonders why people are upset at him, one part of the novel which got me so upset was, the MC caused a fight within a village and the village was wiped out leaving one survivor, he took her around trying to kill monsters then all of a sudden, he leaves with his wife but that girl is left by herself, I was so angry that I almost gave up reading it

If I wanted read an a$$hole of a mc, I would read Reverend Insanity, which I did, but gave up, after too many contradictions with the character, it was as if that author only feels like making the character evil when he feels like it with no consistency

Peerless Martial God was my 1st cultivation novel and I read about 90% of it, which is a hell of a lot of chapters. But I finally gave up because it was the same thing over and over again. I remember most vividly the scene when he met his son for the 1st time. It was atrocious. It was like, "Dad! Dad! I finally get to meet you!" and mc was like: "Nice to meet you too son, but I got to go kill all your friends right now so...ta ta!"

I finished it lol but I didnt read Peerless Martial God 2, it is written by another author. But yeah the plot were sometimes ludicrous, had to impregnate a Holy Lady who happens to be one of his waifu, but she refused to reveal her identity

How very true. It is very hard to find a decent webnovel to read. I think I got spoiled. My first read was King of Gods, followed by ISSTH, Desolate Era, Martial Universe, Martial World, Upgrade Specialist, then A Will Eternal after I watched a couple episodes of the anime. Some not "chinese" webnovels are good - Painting the Mists series and Tao Wong's Thousand Li series.

I've read some of the LitRPG genre, reincarnation of the strongest sword god, the great mechanic, ect. A couple people have made suggestions about what to take next here, on my list.

Try reading "Weapon Master" by Du You. Excellent, it was a while since I found one I could finish.
